Creativity appears everywhere - sometimes as words, sometimes as colors, and other times as an idea that transforms an experience in a luxury store. For those who experience creativity in multiple forms, it is both a privilege and a challenge to let it flow freely across different mediums without losing focus.
Writing: The Most Intimate Form of Creativity
Writing is one of the most intimate ways to express creativity. Words carry stories, emotions, and truths that linger in the mind long after they are read. A single sentence can shift perspective or spark change.
One of the most powerful examples I’ve encountered recently comes from Deborah Levy’s mesmerizing novel Hot Milk:
“My love for my mother is like an axe. It cuts very deep.”
I wrote it down to fully absorb its impact. I shared it with creative friends, and days later, I am still recovering from its sharpness.
Visual Creativity: Speaking Beyond Language
Then there is the language of visuals. A painting, a photograph, or a design needs no translation. These forms of art speak to the senses first and the mind second. Colors, textures, and shapes have the power to alter perception in ways words never could.
Visual creativity invites stillness and contemplation. It creates a space where people can feel something without explaining it. That is its magic - communication beyond language.
Brand Storytelling: Creativity That Sells Without Selling
Creativity also thrives in shaping experiences, which is how I pay my bills. For now. In brand storytelling, creativity should, at least in theory, transform a simple transaction into a lasting memory. It’s not just about aesthetics, where most would stop; it’s about intention, emotion, and resonance. Yet so many brands get it wrong, reducing creativity to the superficial.
A strong creative strategy turns ideas into experiences - ones that linger like a story or a piece of art. This is where imagination meets structure, giving vision a place to live and grow.
Why Creativity Is a Way of Life
Seeing creativity in these dimensions is a gift - both fragile and powerful. Writing deepens storytelling, visual art sharpens the sense of beauty, and strategic thinking gives ideas a framework to thrive.
Each form enriches the other, creating something greater: a life where creativity is not just a skill but a way of being.
Creativity is not a luxury, it is the air I breathe and the water I taste. Do I consider it a responsibility to share what I’ve been given, to use it in ways that matter? Not yet. Though I should.
For now, the real beauty - and the ache - lies in knowing that expression is limitless, always waiting for another canvas, another sentence, another idea to come alive.
